Armoured on this chilly starfilled rooftop
the traffic below the walls dodges hoped for
plans and final details of a love stopped;
signs in the darkness too plain to ignore.
Knowing he sleeps twenty minutes away
peaceful as a child in his own warmth, I
miss his steady snoring beside me; stay
wrapped in orange surrounded by moonlight.
I heard everything but became mute;
lost my voice in all directions awry.
Heat from silent constellations reroutes
the fear of being alone in these skies.
Removing the metal, waiting and brave;
the arrow aims north with myself to save.
